The Bald Knight
Once there was a knight who was growing old, and his hair was falling out. When he became bald, he decided to hide this imperfection by wearing a wig. One day, as he was out hunting with some friends, a sudden gust of wind blew off the wig and exposed his bald head. His companions could not stop themselves from laughing at the accident, and he himself laughed as loud as anyone. “How should I have expected to keep strange hair on my head,” he remarked, “when my very own won’t stay there anymore?”
